Canyoning Bosnia is run by Branko and Davor – ICOpro-certified guides from Tjentište who have been descending Hrcavka Canyon since before it appeared on any tourist map. They know every rappel, every pool, and every jump on the route because they built most of the anchors themselves.

Groups are kept to a maximum of 8 people. Not because it sounds good in a brochure – because Hrcavka’s narrowest sections physically don’t allow more.

From Tjentište, Sutjeska National Park: half-day beginner option for first-timers and families, full-day advanced route for those who want the complete canyon from top to exit waterfall. Both start and end in the same valley – no wasted hours.

Branko and Davor started Outdoor Tara with one rule: keep groups small enough that every guest gets a real experience, not a conveyor belt tour. The activities run from Tjentište, inside Sutjeska National Park – canyoning in Hrcavka with jumps, rappels and a waterfall at the exit, rafting on the Tara river, and hiking to Trnovačko Lake at 1,687m. Different activities, same valley, same two guides who know every metre of it.

I was able to get in touch with Davor via email a few days before to book a day of canoeing and the... read more communication was perfect! I was able to have my questions answered within hours.

We arrived at 10:00 am at the site in Bosnia and Davor was able to welcome us and give us the equipment (new equipment which includes a full wetsuit up to the feet). It is then a 45 minutes trip in the team's pickup to reach the beginning of the adventure on the Tara.

The descent of the Tara took us about 3 hours and includes breaks on nice shady spots (with free cold beers ). Also, Branko and Davor who were our guides that day were taking pictures and videos with their GoPro which they were then able to transfer to us for free at the end of the day!

The strong point of this activity is the fact that this canoeing activity is done in small groups: we were a total of 2 couples + the 2 guides. This allows us to really enjoy and go at the pace we want. 

The price is 45€/ person for the day + it is possible to order a breakfast and/or a lunch (which is very good, we can also note the veggie option available).

Please note: it is also possible to do rafting from May to June because the water level is quite high, then rather opt for the canoeing part from July to September.

					  Me and my travel partner bumped into a local park ranger whilst hiking Beskita. He gave us the info/help to discover Branko and Davor - Absolute legends. Helpful and friendly,... read more they picked us up near our hotel enroute to the canyon. Full gear provided and after a short hike we set off down-river with Branko. His knowledge is clear and is a man you can trust when jumping into the unknown! Excitement, great scenery and excellent guides - definitely do this if you're in Sutjeska National park. Thanks again guys! We had a great day.
